App: Lantern — a prayer companion. Developer: Simakk.
If you'd like Lantern to delete your data, you have two paths — one fully self-serve, one by email.
1. Delete everything on your phone (instant)
Open Lantern on your device and tap Settings → Reset all my data, then confirm. This wipes immediately and permanently from your device:
- All people and intentions you've added (names, relationships, notes, photos)
- Your prayer journal entries
- Answered prayers and gratitude notes
- Your daily-prayer completion log and streak
- Saved devotional readings
- Reminder time preferences
- Cached audio
- Your anonymous device identifier
After tapping Reset, Lantern starts fresh as if just installed.
2. Request server-side deletion (email)
Lantern does not maintain accounts and stores almost nothing on our servers. The only items that live server-side are:
- Anonymous device-ID rate-limit counters — automatically expire after 30 days.
- Push-notification registration — your FCM token plus the reminder time you chose, if you enabled reminders.
- Feedback you've sent — the message you wrote, plus the optional name you chose to include.
To have any of these removed sooner than the natural expiry, email shingim1@gmail.com from any address and include:
- The phrase "Delete my Lantern data" in the subject line.
- The approximate date you last used the app (helps us locate the rate-limit row).
- Any feedback attribution name you used (if you want feedback messages removed).
We will confirm the deletion within 14 days and follow up with a written confirmation.
What is NOT deleted
- Daily devotional content (the dawn / midday / dusk prayers themselves) is shared content with no personal data attached and is kept indefinitely.
- Aggregate non-identifying metrics(e.g. "X prayers generated this week") may be retained.
- Standard server logs (HTTP access logs), which contain no personal identifiers and are rotated every 14 days.
